Mars soil successfully grow vegetables

A successful experiment has been carried out by scientists at Wageningen University, under lead scientist Dr Wieger Wamelink to replicate the soil conditions found on planet Mars and grow vegetables. The results have been good and according to Dr Wamelink, the yields came surprisingly close to those grown in normal compost. The species that were grown were tomato, rye, radish, pea, leek, spinach, rocket, cress, quinoa, and chives and it appears that six of these were successfully harvested.

If all of this reminds readers that something similar took place in the sci-fi movie The Martian, they would be correct as we are reminded that in the movie, astronaut Mark Warney, who was played by Matt Damon, also grew vegetables when he became stranded on the Red Planet. This led the researchers to try to emulate him, which they have done.

As Dr Wamelink pointed out, Mars simulated soil is fine as long as it’s prepared and well-watered, much better than moon soil, and whilst crops grew in this, they did only half as well. The project was the second attempt to try to see what kind of gardening could be done by any future settlers on the moon and Mars. The soils used in the experiments were supplied to the Netherlands by the American space agency NASA; these were designed to be as close as it is possible to the real thing and were obtained from a Hawaiian volcano for the “Martian” style and the “lunar” soil came from the Arizona desert.

Naturally the experiment could not simulate exactly the growing conditions on Mars, growing on the surface would be virtually impossible because the planet is constantly being bombarded by energetic particles, making it impossible. They could however be grown in underground rooms to protect the plants from the hostile environment, including cosmic radiation.

In case anyone was wondering, unlike astronaut Mark Warney, the researchers did not eat their vegetables, due as Dr Wamelink explained, the soils containing heavy metals like lead, arsenic and mercury and also a lot of iron.

Make Simple, Easy And Fun Real Money Online From Home : Postloop

Make easy money online with Postloop. Yes, they are trusted, yes, they are real and yes, their minimum withdrawal is easily obtainable within a few hours of setting up! They use paypal and have a $5-minimum payout. They're also the highest paying site of their kind and I would not talk good about them if they were not so.

So, you want to make money online from home and you are probably tired of all the scams and other websites you have found online that actually don't make you any money. Well, I have been searching online for months to find a mentionable income online and only ever got 2-5 dollars into my account on occasions when doing specific surveys from specific companies. Well, I nearly gave up on the search, untill one day I came accross myLot, a pay to post website, paying a pathetic +-0.01 cent per post or photo. Believe me, going there for the money is not worth it. Going there to have some general chitchat and make a bit of money out of it in the process however, is worth it.

So, one day, I stumble across another website that they are partnered with, called Postloop. Now many people have come, looked and thought it is either confusing, too complicated or not worth the effort. I however, found quite the oposit. It is a paid to post website which basically pays you to post on new or evolving forums which are of hundreds of topics. You just choose the forum/topic that suites you, and enjoy making money talking about what you like! They also do blogs. So, now the questions arise about how to get there, what to do, how to make money, how to withdraw and all the other nitty gritties which I will explain here.

First, you will need to go and open a Paypal account if you don't already have one. They are the most trusted and anyone that tells you that Payza/Alertpay and others are cheaper, are liars. They are much less trusted and are not really cheaper at all.

If you have that covered, head over to http://www.postloop.com/invite/TheMonkMan (I am using my refferal in hope that you will use it for my effort to write this article, it in no way hinders your account in postloop) and then register there.

Once you have finished registering, you will need to log in, go to the "Forums" tab and look for "Postloop portal". You will need to go there, register, then come back to the forums page, click on the subscribe button (buttons are explained at the bottom of the page) and enter your username and email that you used to register at the Postloop Portal forum. Once this is done and you clicked the button to continue, you will see it says in red at the top of the screen that you have subscribed.

Now you have to go back there and start earning some money, post 10 quality posts in that forum, (make a thread or two as well, since it increases your rating). These 10 posts are for the PostLoop team to verify the quality of your posts to allow you to be a member or not. Approval should take at most 24 hours. In this time, you have already made +-70 cents.

Once you get approved, boom! You're in and ready to earn! Go back to the forums or blogs pages, get subscribed (remember to register first) and then you can start earning. I made my first minimum amount on the first day I started and cashed it out to make sure that it is legit, got the payment within 24 hours. Now I'm still going strong, making much more in a day, being subscribed to quite a few more forums, with the possibility of making well over 20 USD per day. I have withdrawn again this afternoon and am expecting it to be in my paypal account by tomorrow.

Now, for some more information about this website:

They work on a points basis, forums buy points from postloop, postloop pays you per point you get by "using up" the points that websites have. The more you post in a forum, the more your points goes up and theirs down. 100 points is 5 USD. You get around 1.5 points per post, the higher rated you are, the more bonus points, the more money. You can be rated by the forum owners so be careful! Don't post scams or anything that will upset them, you need an above average rating to be able to withdraw your money! (Don't worry too much about this if you are interested in only posting on things that interest you and will be getting quality posts.) READ the RULES that the forums give you! They are important to the owners and they will get you a good rating if you abide by them. Don't comment on forums that have their points in the minus cause you won't get any money from them. Wait until they have topped up their account.

And, I think I have it pretty much covered. So yes, I would ask you the BIGGEST favor which would be to use my refferal link : http://www.postloop.com/

I sure hope that this was useful and an informing article.

How to Hire a Freelancer to Write Blog Posts

Blogging has become incredibly popular in recent years, but not everyone has time to maintain one. Hiring a freelancer to blog for you can save you time and frustration. In just a few short steps you can hire a freelancer and have your blog up and running.

In recent years blogging has skyrocketed in popularity. It seems as if everyone from the Average Joe to company CEO's have a blog. Maintaining a blog, however, takes time, and that's where freelancers come in. Most large businesses and celebrities hire freelancers to maintain their blogs for them, but you don't have to be wealthy to do it. Hiring a freelancer to write an article for you is simple and easy, thanks to a few popular websites.

When hiring a freelancer for the first time, it's safest to go through a website such as oDesk, Guru, or Elance.com. They have measures in place to protect you and your money. Also, they allow freelancers to bid on your job, so you can get a great deal and evaluate their portfolios beforehand. No matter which of the sites you go through, here are the basic steps involved:

1. Decide on the subject of your article(s). If you have a specific subject or a broad one, now's the time to decide for sure what you want. You'll also need an idea of how long you want your article to be, how soon you need it, and what you're willing to budget for it.

2. Sign up for the website. Most websites of this type require some kind of verification, such as a credit card, so that they know you're honest. It also lets freelancers know that they are assured payment for their work.

3. Write up a description of the job. Be brief, but clear in what you need. The general topic of the article and its length are the most important things to convey. Once you've decided on a freelancer, you can discuss any further details about the project, such as a more specific subject.

4.Post your job and budget, and let the bids roll in. You can wait for bids, invite freelancers you've seen on the site to bid on your project, or both. If a freelancer you're impressed by bids on your project, you can close the job and hire them at any time. You can also interview several freelancers before settling on one if you like.

5. Communicate. Once you've chosen your article writer, start up a dialogue with them and be very clear about your needs. This will make it easier on the writer and on you. Also, take the time to answer any questions they may have. Depending on which site you used, you may be able to track their progress.

6. Review the article. Once the freelancer has submitted the article to you, it is time to double-check that it meets your expectations. Depending on your agreement with the writer, you may be able to send it back for small revisions.

7. Pay and post! After you are satisfied with the article, submit your payment/release the funds to the freelancer. After that, all you need to do is post the article to your blog, and you're done!

The process above is but one way that freelancers are hired. Some people choose to hire full or part-time employees to maintain their blogs. The path you take depends on your specific needs and comfort level. Do your research beforehand, and the process will go smoothly. By following a few simple steps, everyone can maintain a blog!

Writing Effective Subject Lines

If your subject lines don't identify your business and explain what the email is about, your readers won't open them and your campaign won't generate the results you want. This article outlines how to write an effective subject line.

Once you have written all the content within your email, it';s all done and ready to be sent out, right?  Wrong!  You';ve forgotten the subject line, one of the most crucial factors in email marketing success.

The subject line is what appears alongside your name (the sender) in your recipient';s email inbox and identifies what your email is about. Writing subject lines is particularly difficult because you are limited to around 50 characters because this is all that is displayed by your recipient';s email program.  This means you need to keep it short and sharp and make the most of every single character you have.  It also means that you may not be able to mention everything in the subject line that is covered in the email.  Therefore, you need to be like a journalist when they write headlines - choose the most newsworthy angle and focus on that in your subject line. Writing an effective subject line is a very important aspect of email marketing.

Here are some tips for writing your subject line:

  • *    Make it informative - as mentioned, the subject line needs to immediately tell the reader what the email is about so they can make the decision to open it or not.  If your subject line doesn';t contain enough detail, the recipient will probably delete it, or worse, mark it as spam.  Remember, all consumers view emails from a WIIFM (';What';s In It for Me';) perspective and will only open an email from you if the subject line indicates they will get something out of reading it.  Many experts now also recommend including the name of the newsletter or mailing list in square brackets at the start of the subject line so the recipient can immediately recognise the email as something they have signed up for.  For example: [Bloomnews] Subject Line Tips, Discount Offer.  This example includes the name of the newsletter and also two important features of the email that will attract attention.

  • *    Don';t be misleading - the quickest way to lose a customer is to lie to them.  This rules applies to email subscribers too - if your subject lines are misleading and the reader doesn';t get what they were expecting from your email, they will simply unsubscribe from your mailing list.  So don';t promise things in the subject line that the email doesn';t deliver on.  For example, the subject line "Free shipping on all items this week" will probably send your open rate through the roof, but if the contents of your email explain that free shipping is only for orders over $500, only to selected regions and only for the second item purchased, your readers won';t be impressed.  It will more than likely damage their opinion and trust of your brand or encourage them to mark your emails as spam, preventing any future communications from you.

  • *    Create interest - while it';s important that your subject lines are informative, it also needs to grab the attention of the recipient and make them want to open your email.  Your campaigns will be competing with dozens of other emails in your recipient';s inbox, so your subject line needs to be intriguing so you stand out from the crowd.  To create interest, your subject line needs to have a hook that will stimulate the recipient';s brain and make them open the email.  Some great hooks include humour, making money, saving money, benefits and fear - all of these things appeal to people in different ways and can make them curious enough to open your email

  • *    Work with the sender line - when sending emails, many business people only focus on the subject line because it is one of the most talked about parts of the email.  However, they should also be thinking about the sender line and ways to integrate it with the subject line for better results.  The recipient will look at both lines to determine what the email is about and if the sender can be trusted.  The sender line should contain something that identifies your business - such as the company name as the sender or the name of a person from the organisation combined with the company name.  Maximising the sender line also has the added benefit of giving you the full length of the subject line to focus on grabbing the recipient';s attention.

  • *    Test, test, test - there is every chance that a small change to your subject line could significantly increase the open rate for your emails, but you will never know this unless you conduct testing.  For some businesses with small lists or basic software, testing may not be possible, but if it is then you should definitely be doing it.  The easiest way to test subject lines is to segment your audience into groups and send the same email with different subject lines to each group to see which line gets the best open rate.  Then use a similar type of subject line for your next campaign and so on, with a new test every few months.

Follow these tips and you will soon be writing effective, attention grabbing subject lines that send your open rate through the roof!

Birds data in india

Bird Data is reputation for reliable and accurate bird news is based on long standing relationships with many of the Indian's leading birders at rarity hotspots and observatories throughout the country.

Maybe you';re thinking, who cares? Well, believe it or not, a lot of us do. In fact, bird watching is still a rather popular hobby. However, it can take a little time and research if you plan to sort through the many airborne creatures that inhabit this world. Regardless, this can be a fun and exciting past-time if you give it a shot. Wouldn';t it be cool if you were able to impress all your friends by knowing each and every bird you spotted? That would probably catch them off guard. The great part is, you don';t really need much to get started. A decent pair of binoculars and a bird book should do the trick quite nicely.

With our huge website giving lots of technical information, I thought I really should pay more attention to the millions of people who don';t keep up a bird list, who don';t spend their weekends trotting through the woods. If you like looking out of your window and see birds on a birdfeeder, enjoy little birds busy around feeding their young, then this section of the website is for you. If you go to school, then I like you to feel that this part of the website is especially for you.

I just started this section and it will take a while until all the pages have been written with good information. I still need to get good pictures of birdhouses, birdfeeders, designs and ideas. There are many website selling birdhouses and feeders, and quite frankly I am appalled by the prices of the products on most sites. So over time, I hope to help you discover affordable ways of making your own birdhouses and bird feeders.

At first you will find some links to sites that I consider worth reading and consulting but over time, most of the information will be from myself. But I can';t do it alone. I need your help to help the millions of bird friends to help our feathered friends. Therefore, I would really appreciate if you could send me pictures and suggestions and comments on birdhouses and birdfeeders.

Not to do me a favour, but to share your pictures with others and help them with your ideas and pictures to get the joy of having those marvelous joyous feathered friends around their houses.Bird Data will provide you with the very best of bird news. Should You Start a Blog for Your Business?

Starting a blog can be one of the most beneficial things you do for your business. But just because you have a blog doesn't mean you have a good blog. And therein lies the problem: Your blog should exist to improve your business, not detract from it.

Is a Blog Right for You?

The main reason to start a blog is because you want to move your business ahead. Blogs can be excellent vehicles for driving search traffic, expanding your market reach and establishing your authority in your industry.

Blogs are also great for adding complementary content to your online business. Often, business websites don’t allow for content that isn’t absolutely critical to the bottom line. Blogs are a good bridge between core site content and content that's more loosely related to your business or industry.

A blog is also a good way to showcase your authority; building authority in your industry can give you an edge on your competition. One way to find content that showcases your authority is to repurpose content you’ve created elsewhere, such as presentations, videos, tutorials and so on, all of which can help you position your brand as the authority in your niche.

Starting a blog can be one of the most beneficial things you do for your business.
But just because you have a blog doesn't mean you have a good blog. And therein lies the problem.

Next step is to ask yourself if you can properly commit to it. Successful blogs usually take money, manpower and time. Without that, then nobody wins—not the readers or your business—and your best move may be to look into other avenues to grow your business.
Building a Great Business Blog

If you’ve decided you can commit to building and maintaining a blog, try to create the kind of blog you’d subscribe to yourself.

Here are a few examples of great company blogs so you can see how successful blogs contribute to their businesses through the use of great content and design:

MailChimp. MailChimp’s blog is not only a fantastic example of seamless branding (the blog's design mimics MailChimp's website perfectly), it employs excellent writing and design. These aren’t copied-and-pasted press releases. They're well thought out, in-depth articles aimed at the company's target market.

Groove. Groove is a startup that grew to more than $100,000 in monthly revenue the first year, and the company attributes a large portion of that success to its blog. Its posts are honest and provide a behind-the-scenes look at the decisions the company's founders have made, the successes and the failures in starting an online help desk software company.

Patagonia. Patagonia is an excellent example of a retailer blog with The Cleanest Line, which highlights the company’s values without talking about the company itself. The blog covers such themes as adventure, travel, exploration and environmental activism—with a bit of company news sprinkled in here and there. The articles complement the Patagonia brand without overtly selling the company or its products.

This approach generates a lot of engagement, rarely fewer than 150 Facebook shares, per post. Since the blog only covers the company a fraction of the time, when it does talk about the business, those posts are shared just as much as the others. This is a great example of how a company has built a brand that people want to champion.

Essentially, the blogs are driven by businesses that have a plan and execute it as if it were a core part of your business and don’t skimp on resources. The good news is, if you can commit, blogging can be a powerful tool for your business.

Why Purpose Matters

The day you start your business, you should place "Purpose" at its forefront. This is a critical issue that fails to get enough attention. Many business owners that are asked, "What is the purpose of your business?" will answer "to make money" (or something similar). You might be thinking, "Isn't that the purpose of being in a for-profit business?" I can confidently say "no." By serving a purpose well and doing it in a profitable manner, you will "make money." The greater, the more needed and more desired the purpose you choose to serve, the more money you can make.

If I met you at a party and asked you to tell me about your business, where would you start? Most people tell me about their role, title, function, or product or service. For example, one person might tell me they are the Managing Partner in an accounting firm, or a tax accountant, or an auditor. A CEO might tell me he owns a company that manufactures retail skincare products. However, if that is what they view as their purpose they are in trouble. If you look at the marketplace, there is an oversupply of just about every product and service you can name. Think about it. When was the last time you thought, "There isn't a tax accountant or auditor to be found anywhere?" When was the last time you heard someone say "I wish I had more choices of skincare products because there are just not enough of them?" It just isn't going to happen. Because there is oversupply, services and products are available everywhere you go, as well as online and over the phone, and can be delivered in 24 hours.

Now imagine those same people had a different view of what their purpose is. For example, I have an accounting firm client whose purpose is to increase the wealth of the firm's clients. They have built a set of practice areas in tax, audit, technology, wealth management, etc. For each client they create a team that uses the strengths of each team member to devise the best strategy each year to help maximize their clients' wealth. While you might point out that every sizable firm has the same practice areas, this firm's view of what they are doing and why they exist is the difference-maker. My client's view causes them forge a nontraditional client relationship structure. They build specialized tool kits, hire specialized resources, and act in a way towards their client that has specific intention. I can assure you that not every accounting firm is creating the kind of relationship with their clients that would allow for such positive outcomes to occur and thus they are failing to help their clients reach their fullest potential as a result.
Only after you have established your purpose are you in the position to answer the following questions:

1. What problem(s) does our business solve for our client?
2. What should our business do to achieve that purpose
3. What types of clients do we want to have, and what will our relationships look like?

Let me start by saying you are not alone. I believe you are working hard. Unfortunately, just because you are working hard doesn’t mean you’ll have success. You need to also work smart and invest in long-term ways to grow your list.

Let me tell you about my favorite way to grow your list – giving away articles.

If you’re not familiar with using articles as a marketing method, then you’re in for a big treat. Website owners and blog owners are always looking for content to share with their web visitors. So, there are places called Article Directories (basically a library of free articles) where they can go to find articles that they can use – free.

All of these articles have an Author bio at the end. (See the end of this article for an example.). The author bio is the primo space where the authors get to talk about their business. Their brag space, so to speak.

What does any of this have to do with you? You can write and distribute articles to these article directories, too. And, in your author bio, instead of linking directly to your main page of your site, you can link to a page where you have a signup box for your newsletter. Voila. Everyone who clicks through that link will be taken to the page where you can offer them your wonderful newsletter (with a great incentive they can’t pass up.) Of course your page will lure them into signing up and your newsletter list will grow.

Article Writing: Can it help my E-book Sales?

Question: I wrote an e-book and I have a sales page selling it. Can I use article writing to promote my e-book?
Signed, Where are the Sales?

Dear Where are the Sales,
Absolutely. In fact, I highly recommend it.

It’s a perfect fit. Think about it. You’ve already got the content, and you obviously don’t mind writing since you’ve written an entire e-book. You’re a perfect candidate for using article sharing to get traffic to your website – and sell more e-books in the process.

If article sharing is new to you, you’ll catch on quickly. It’s an easy process, and it’s so effective. Here’s all there is to it.

1. You write an article about your topic of expertise. Or you use a section from your e-book and turn it into an article.

2. Add an author resource box at the end that includes the URL to your website – where you want the website visitors to go. Ideally this would be the sales page for your e-book. (See the bottom of this article for an example.)

3. Submit your article to article directories. These article directories contain thousands of free articles that publishers can freely use on their websites, blogs and in their newsletters.

4. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.

Every time your article is published, your author bio will be included, giving you exposure for your website.

Now, if you have an affiliate program, there’s even more potential. If you’re smart, you’ll also send the articles to your affiliates and allow them to use the articles – and encourage them to replace your URL with their affiliate link for your program. A smart affiliate will grab those articles in a heartbeat and start publishing them all over the web.

I hope you’ll see the potential of article sharing, and embrace it. If not, you’re really missing out on an easy way to grow your business and generate large amounts of traffic to your website. I look forward to seeing your articles in the article directories.

Article Writing: Can it help my Online Radio Show?

Question: I started an online talk radio show. I have the equipment set up and my guests lined up. But, how do I get listeners? I feel like I’m talking to myself.
Signed, Talking to Myself

Dear Talking to Myself,
First of all, Congratulations! What a big step you took to start a show. You’ve got the equipment ready, the interviews lined up and are ready to roll. I’m assuming you’ve already spent money on equipment so you don’t want to spend more on advertising. What’s a frugal online radio host to do?

Lucky for you, there are many ways to get traffic to your online radio show. One of my favorites is writing and sharing articles. If you’re unfamiliar with this method of traffic generation, it’s actually quite simple. In fact, it’s working right now. You’re reading an article that I’ve written and shared – and you can see at the bottom of the article, my author bio, where I get to share a little bit about me.

If it’s working for me, it can work for you, too. All you need to do is to find some topics, write effective articles with an author bio that works, and submit it to everyone who wants it. And repeat, repeat, repeat.

Not only will you get traffic to your website, but you’ll get more people inquiring about being guests on your show. And, if you sell advertising on your radio show, you’ll get exposure to more potential advertisers as well. Article sharing is definitely a great way to get your name out into the cyber-world.

And, the best part is that every article you send out is working for you for years to come. One article won’t likely get you a flood of traffic, but it’ll give you a ongoing drip. Fifteen articles will get you a trickle, and so on. So, get writing and get your message out there. You’ve got nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Article Writing: Can it Help Grow my Affiliate Program?

Question: I just set up a new affiliate program and have heard I can write articles to promote it. How does this work?
Signed New Affiliate Manager

Dear New Affiliate Manager,
Oh, don’t even get me started on this one! I love this topic.

If you’re new to the concept of article marketing, you can write articles and share them with websites, blogs and newsletters. These publishers are hungry for content and will gladly publish your informative articles on their sites. Every time they do, your author bio, including your website URL and information about your website, is included at the bottom. (See the bottom of this article to see how it works.)

What does this have to do with your affiliate program? Well, it can help you in two ways.

First of all, you can write articles and submit them to the article directories (which are basically libraries of free articles). Then when your articles are published, you’ll get traffic and a portion of those visitors will buy your products and a portion will sign up for your affiliate program (both of which will help your business grow.)

Secondly, you can allow your affiliates to use these articles on their websites with one special alteration. ENCOURAGE them to replace your URL with their link from your affiliate program. The article becomes monetized so the publisher can make money simply by sharing it (and you will, too.) Do you think your articles will be spread like wildfire by enthusiastic affiliates? Oh yes, much faster than you could spread the word alone.

Think about it. The viral aspect of this type of marketing can grow your affiliate program exponentially. All it takes is some research, a little time and some hard work. The benefits? Priceless.

Article Writing: Can it help my Virtual Assistant Business?

Question: I’m a Virtual Assistant. Can I use articles to promote my business?
Signed, Eager VA

Dear Eager VA,
Virtual Assistants are springing up all around the internet. It’s a very viable business option and more work at home moms are jumping on the bandwagon every day. The real go-getters will whip up a “business card” website right away with their contact information, ‘about me’ information, and their rates and services offered.

But, then that website sits and collects dust while they wait for the traffic to roll in. So, what’s a Virtual Assistant to do to generate traffic to their website?

Oftentimes VAs overlook one of the best methods of marketing their websites – article writing. Virtual Assistants can write about all kinds of topics – how to organize emails, customer service, hiring or firing a VA, ways a VA can benefit a business, or accounting among other things. Then, they can share the articles, just like any other website owner to drive traffic to their websites and establish an expert status in their field.

If you’re a VA who’s new to article sharing, it’s actually quite easy. You write a helpful article and include your author bio at the end. (See the end of this article as an example.) Then, you submit your article to Article Directories where hungry website owners, blog owners and ezine publishers eagerly grab your article to publish it on their sites.

Now, there is stiff competition so it’s not quite that easy, but that’s the gist of how article sharing works. And, you know it works because you’re reading my article that I’ve written and shared with article directories. There’s my URL in the author bio and you’ve found my article because someone has published it on their website, blog or in their newsletter. If it works for me, it can work for you, too.

Article sharing is underutilized in the Virtual Assistant field and I hope to see that change in the coming year. Go grab that free traffic and grow your VA business. Not only will your VA business grow, but you can share this method of marketing with your clients and blow them away with your knowledge of internet marketing. Best wishes.

Article Writing: Can it Help Grow my Forum?

Question: I’ve got a forum and it’s a ghost town. How can I get people to my forum? – NobodyLovesMe

Dear Nobody Loves Me,
Building a forum into a happenin’ place is a LOT of work. Don’t be discouraged if your efforts aren’t paying off yet. It does take time.

That being said, there are ways to boost your forum and keep boosting it, without having to spend a lot of money. Let me share one of my favorite ways to get traffic, writing articles.

You may not be familiar with article sharing. Basically, you write and share your articles with other websites and newsletters that need content. They publish your article with your author resource box (including your website URL). This helps both of you. The website publisher needs interesting, informative content and you need the exposure.

But, what does this have to do with building your forum? It can help you in two ways.

1. In your author bio, include a link directly to your forum so people that click through your link can sign up immediately and get chatting with the other members.

2. Or link to your website and have your forum prominently displayed on every page. The more incoming links you have pointing to your website content, the more important the search engines will think your site is – and you’ll get more natural traffic from google, msn, and yahoo.

So, how do you take advantage of this method of generating traffic? You can start today.

1. Choose a topic. You can even use your own forum posts for inspiration. If you’ve recently answered questions in a post on your forum about any topic, turn it into an article. (Of course you may only use the materials you yourself have written and any and all names should be changed.)

2. Include your Author Resource box. Make sure to think about this part a lot. Many people just skim over it and, frankly, have useless resource boxes. What do you offer to the visitors? Do you have a free incentive for joining? Think this one through. Make it enticing.

3. Submit your Articles. Find article directories where you can share your articles.

4. Then, don’t sit and wait for traffic, repeat the process over and over and watch your forum grow.

The results will be long-lasting as your articles will float around the web for years and years to come.

Article Writing: Can it Help my Direct Sales Business?

Question: How can I get long-term advertising for my Direct Sales website without spending a fortune?
Signed, Direct Sales Mom

Dear Direct Sales Mom,
Very often, people in Direct Sales don’t realize they can benefit from the same methods of internet marketing that other online businesses use. Writing and submitting articles is one of those methods of marketing that is extremely effective for Direct Sales businesses.

If you’re unfamiliar with the way article marketing works, basically, you write and give away helpful, informative articles. Why would you work so hard and give away your information? Look at the bottom of this article. There you’ll see my name and a brief bit of information about what I do. I didn’t pay for that advertising. It’s free.

So, how does it work? You write an article about a topic that you are interested in – usually one that relates in some way to your business. If you sell makeup, there’s no point in writing about forest fires. So, show your expertise and share your love of what you do in a brief article. Then you’ll want to find article directories that will accept your article. You’ll submit your articles to the directories, including your author bio and a link to your website.

Website publishers, blog owners, and ezine publishers will search the directories and find interesting articles to share with their readers. When they use one of your articles, they’ll include your author bio at the end with a clickable link to your website. Voila. You just scored some free traffic.

As long as your company allows you to link to your website, (and I realize that some don’t) – you can use article writing to grow your customer list and your team.

If your company does not allow links to your website, you may be able to set up a lead generation page to get people’s information. Or you can send them to a newsletter sign up page where you can get them on a list where you may talk more freely about your products in your newsletter. Just be sure to check with your company policies and procedures before investing too much time and energy into writing articles.

Now get writing!

Is it Really this Easy to Get Free Advertising?

One of the best ways to get free advertising is to simply write articles and give them away. It’s a foreign concept to many in online business, but it’s one of the best ways to get traffic, improve your search engine ranking, and sell more products.

Why Should You Write Articles?

Newsletter and website owners are desperate for content. As someone who owns websites and publishes several newsletters, I can vouch for this. I regularly search article directories, looking for quality information that will help my readers. And, every article I use from these resources gets published with the author’s information and a link to their site.

Why Give The Articles Away?

How much would you pay to include your ad in a newsletter or popular website? Anywhere from $5 to $80. Wouldn’t you prefer to have your ad placed for free? It’s easy to see the financial reward. Look at the bottom of this article. Right there, plain as day, you can see a resource box with my website included, so you have proof that this method works.

How do you write an article?

Take another look at the article that you’re reading right now. It’s short. It’s simple. I’m not a Literary Genius. I’m just being me.

Start by picking something you know about, or a problem that you can solve, and start writing. Just do it!

What should you include in the Author Bio?

Your Name
Something interesting about you or your website
Your website link – Don’t forget this one!
Special offer – Mention a freebie or special offer if you have one.
Don’t use this area to *sell*. Just get them to your site.

May you have lots and lots of free advertising!

Article Writing Tips from SpongeBob SquarePants

Wisdom can be found in the most unexpected places. Today, wisdom bubbled up from a pineapple under the sea. I suddenly realized that everything you’d want to know about writing articles for your website can be taught by SpongeBob SquarePants and his friends.

When you write for your newsletter, blog, or website, which character are you most like?

Mr. Krabs: This crustacean is focused on one thing and one thing only, making more and more and more money. Only a cartoon could actually have dollar signs drawn in his eyes. He thinks of no one, only how he can benefit. Are your articles focused on you or on the reader? Are you providing information or do you have blinders on, thinking only about how you can make money from the article you are writing? If your article reads like an ad or is self-serving or full of affiliate links, you might write like Mr. Krabs.

Plankton: The smallest creature in the sea is also the sneakiest. He’ll do anything and hurt anyone to steal someone else’s work (the Krabby Pattie secret formula). Write your own material. Don’t be Plankton. Don’t copy and paste someone else’s work, edit it, and try to pass it off as your own. You will be caught, and it just isn’t worth it. Take the same amount of effort and work on your own thoughts and ideas. Plankton never gets away with his schemes, either. He’s on Plan “Z” and is still pathetically failing at his attempts to steal the secret formula.

Patrick: SpongeBob’s best friend, the starfish, has a good heart, but isn’t the brightest creature in the sea. Do your articles make you sound like an expert? Are you providing valuable content or just pushing out sloppy articles as fast as you can? Always double check for typos and grammatical errors. If you’re challenged by spelling and grammar, hire a Virtual Assistant or Copywriter to proofread and submit your article for you. Or slow down, set your article aside for a day and then reread it before you click the “submit” button.

Squidward: Squidward is B-O-R-I-N-G. When writing articles, are you a Squidward? Do you just get the words down on paper or are you finding a fun twist to entertain your audience and keep them coming back for more? Take time to make your articles stand out from the thousands of other dull articles out there by including personal stories or just having fun while writing. For instance, this article could be entitled “How to Write a Good Article”, but would it stand out from the hundreds of other articles about article writing? Probably not.

SpongeBob: This little guy always tries to do the right thing, and is a hard worker. He may not always end up getting the results he hoped for, but he bounces back and tackles his work with a renewed vigor. SpongeBob works very hard, he’s a good friend, he always thinks of others, and tries to have fun no matter what he is faced with. Hardworking, friendly SpongeBob is the guy to be when writing articles.

Although this is a silly lesson in article writing, I hope you’ll remember the important messages our underwater friends have taught us.

1. Write articles to help others, not with dollar signs in your eyes.

2. Write your own material. Don’t copy others.

3. Proofread your articles carefully, and provide valuable information.

4. Be entertaining. Not boring.

5. Be a SpongeBob! Hard work and persistence pay off.

Before you know it, you’ll develop a following for having informative and entertaining articles and you’ll be King or Queen of the sea.
